The Tennessee Volunteers are coming off of a deeply disappointing home loss to Kentucky but they are still one of the best teams in the country at 14-3. No doubt that was one of their worst performances this season but I highly doubt that will bleed into this game. If we just look at the stats/trends Volunteers are averaging 74.4 points per game, 54 points against per game, 40 rebounds per game, and 18 assists per game while Mississippi State Bulldogs are averaging 65.6 points per game, 57.5 points against per game, 38.8 rebounds per game, and 14.5 assists per game. Tennessee is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games following an ATS loss. Mississippi State is 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games and only 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 home games. Let’s not forget that Tennessee defeated Mississippi State by a score of 87-53 just a few games ago and have defeated them in 8 out of their last 9 meetings…. Yes EIGHT of NINE.
Shake off that last performance by the Vols…Rick Barnes does an excellent job of getting his team to bounce back with strong outings and they will no doubt be playing angry and motivated in this matchup. Backing the Vols to cover the spread as a 10 Unit (PRO) play.
